The Department of Community Engagement provides programs and services to support historically underrepresented and low socioeconomic students through college preparation programs, school and community partnerships, and the Diversity Scholars Program to help increase in student diversity at UT Dallas.
Established in 2008, the Department of Community Engagement coordinates college preparation programs and education outreach services to promote college access and equity, and initiatives that align with the UT Dallas’ institutional diversity goals. These initiatives include programs targeting scholarship recipients in the Diversity Scholars Program – a program for students with a record of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. The department hosts nearly 80 events each year and reaches more than 6,000 prospective students, parents, and community members annually.
The Department of Community Engagement prepares an annual report each academic year. The reports from the last five years are provided to the public for informational purposes. To request additional reports, please contact the Department of Community Engagement at [email protected].
